Join the paddleboarding way of life
We are on a mission to bring water-loving, SUP-mad locals together! If you’re local to South Lakes, or a regular visitor, you could become a Paddleboard The Lakes member today and sign up to a seasonal package of fun-filled adventures. Do more of what you love, bring your own board, or hire from us with friends and family at a discounted price throughout the season. All membership benefits run from April to October.
New for this season, we have 2 different schemes to choose from depending on your equipment needs - our Self-Launch Membership or discounted board hire Block Session Membership:
Self-Launch Membership | Season Price = £70.00 per person
This package is designed for those who have their own paddleboard or kayak, are fully equipped, and just require access to the private marina. Membership includes:
- Unlimited self-launches of your own board from The Swan Hotel private marina slipway during season opening times. (T&Cs apply. Membership is per person. Anyone who joins you and not hiring from us would also require a membership.)
- Family/friends discount: 10% off Paddleboard The Lakes board hire prices when they come to SUP with you.
- Joining us on our evening SUP socials (dates to be confirmed, but will hopefully run fortnightly throughout the season).
- The chance to meet & connect with like-minded people while doing something that you love.
- Free on-site parking (details must be given on arrival each time to avoid parking charges).
- 10% off in the Swan Hotel restaurant (show your membership ID card to receive discount off your bill - food only, drinks not included).
- 10% off at the Marina Ice Cream Hut.
- Access to exclusive paddleboard merchandise offers.
Discounted Board Hire | Block Session Membership
This package is designed for those who live local and love paddleboarding, but haven’t got their own paddleboard. Membership includes:
- Discounted board hire when bought in block sessions. (See table below. T&Cs apply. Time slots cannot be booked online. They must be booked over the phone or in person at the Paddle Hut. Booking in advance will ensure equipment availability. Membership is per person (1 board) and for the name holder only. Pre-paid sessions cannot be passed onto other participants.)
- Family/friends discount: 10% off Paddleboard The Lakes board hire prices when they come to SUP with you.
- Joining us free of charge on our evening SUP socials (dates to be confirmed, but will hopefully run fortnightly throughout the season).

Contact admin@paddleboardthelakes.co.uk for a membership form requesting which package you are interested in. Payment is to be made direct to Paddleboard The Lakes Ltd prior to your first session. You will receive full membership terms & conditions in your welcome confirmation email, as well as information on our policies and safety procedures.
SUP SOCIALS
We are hopefully going to be running fortnightly evening paddles from May to September where you can meet and connect with awesome like-minded people while enjoying a beautiful part of the Lake District! Launching from The Swan Hotel marina we will head out for a relaxed paddle along the river and onto the lake, hopefully enjoying the evening sunshine as we go! For members, this is included in your package price and you can bring your own board or use one of ours. If you are new to paddleboarding or need a bit more practise feeling comfortable going from kneeling to standing on your board, please book onto one of our Master The Basics lessons first. Once attended you are then welcome to come along to our social events or sign up for the season to start taking advantage of all our membership benefits. Members are welcome to bring family or friends along to our socials if they are competent paddleboarders. All non-members will pay a £5 fee to join each social and are welcome to sign up to our full membership at any point throughout the season - just enquire at The Paddle Hut at the end of the social.
THE SWAN HOTEL
Newby Bridge’s finest hotel, The Swan Hotel & Spa, have kindly offered our members 10% off your food bill when shown your members ID card, so why not end your day of paddling fun with some fantastic food in their bar & restaurant (food only - not including drinks).
They also offer Paddleboard The Lakes members free parking on-site, just make sure you let them know on arrival at the hotel reception so they can input your vehicle registration plate into their system each time you paddle.
